Somerset Gift can sleep approximately 34 guests across our six guest houses/ cottages. There are also other neighbouring farms with self-catering cottages, and Swellendam with all its guesthouses is a mere 15km away.
We also allow sleeping tents to be erected as part of your wedding or retreat and charge these as follows: R200 per night per 2-man tent, R400 per night per 4-man tent.
We do not charge a Venue Fee as we don’t have the staff capability to help with setting up or breaking down. For events we require that all our cottages are booked for a minimum of two nights which will offer you exclusive use of the farm and all its facilities. This breathtakingly beautiful farm is situated just outside the historical town of Swellendam (the third oldest town in South Africa) in a lush green valley bordering the foothills of the majestic Langeberg Mountain.
The setting is simply idyllic, with stunning views of the mountain, green pastures where cattle and horses graze, a serene spring-fed lake, and the lovely Buffeljags River which runs the length of the farm.
The farm has ownership rights to a few thousand hectares of pristine mountain ground with trails through indigenous forest and fynbos to magical mountain valleys, waterfalls and rock pools.
Each season reveals its own secret beauty making the farm a special place to visit year round.

Accommodation
Somerset Gift Getaway farm has six charming self-catering accommodation options, The Manor House, Fish Eagle Lodge, Rose cottage, Loerie cottage, Olive cottage and the Little Bush Buck cottage. They are all tastefully appointed with antique and Cape cottage furniture, set about 50m apart and staggered for privacy, so individually private, yet close enough to be convenient for group bookings.
The accommodation is extremely spacious and designed to take advantage of the magnificent settings with large outside undercover furnished living areas for all weather comfort. All the cottages have manicured gardens with large open grassy areas for the kids to play.
Somerset Gift can accommodate a maximum of 42 guests depending on sleeping arrangements. Please enquire on booking.
