Dating back to 1832, the beautifully preserved manor house and barn chapel reflect the venue’s rich past. The Kruger family has lovingly restored this gem, maintaining its original charm while adding modern comforts.

Ceremony & Reception Options

Schaftplaas offers several stunning settings for your ceremony. The 150-year-old barn chapel provides an intimate space with hay bale seating for up to 70 guests. Alternatively, couples can exchange vows outdoors in Japie se Gat, a serene eucalyptus grove, or on the lush green lawns beside the reception area. For an unforgettable entrance, the bride can arrive in a horse-drawn cart, adding a romantic touch to the day.

Rustic & Elegant Reception Spaces

The American-style barn serves as a spacious and charming reception area, featuring a large dance floor, a cozy lounge, and a fully equipped cash bar. A beautiful fireplace adds warmth and ambiance, enhancing the rustic charm. The venue comfortably accommodates between 50 and 200 guests, making it suitable for both intimate and large celebrations.

With wooden tables, chairs, rustic floors, and elegant fairy lights, Schaftplaas offers a beautifully styled setting. A selection of décor items is available, ensuring a seamless planning process without the need to source additional rentals.

The venue provides bridal dressing areas, allowing both the bride and groom to prepare on-site while the photographer captures those special pre-ceremony moments. The historic manor house, farmyard, and natural surroundings offer a variety of stunning backdrops for wedding photography.

During cocktail hour, guests can relax on the lawn with champagne and canapés, enjoying a spectacular West Coast sunset before the evening festivities begin.
