La Residence is in a class of its own. Located in the beautiful Franschhoek valley, where the exquisite vineyards and mountains form a picture perfect backdrop, La Residence  provides a haven of luxurious accommodation, fine dining and an all-round sensory indulgence. The Experience Eleven opulent, individually-styled suites incorporate antiques, Persian carpets, fine fabrics and an eclectic mix of objects d’art. In addition to the deluxe décor, La Residence has a reputation for world-class dining. Haute cuisine is served in the baronial dining room or on the tranquil patios. With sublime views, diverse pastimes, crisp mountain air and the stillness of the serene valley, this is an unparalleled luxury retreat. At La Residence, personalised service is the order of the day. Today Franschhoek is celebrated for its remarkable wine-making and gourmet food. There are over 22 wine estates in the valley, several of which have achieved world renown, and eight of South Africa’s Top 100 restaurants are to be found here. True to its French origins, the region is rich in arts and culture. There are two historical museums worth visiting, namely the Huguenot Memorial and the Huguenot Museum. The French sense of flair is evident in the stunning architecture, and the main road is lined with antique and craft shops, as well as many galleries displaying the work of local artists.

		Our Accommodation
		An integral part of the luxurious La Residence experience is the elaborate interior. Each of the eleven rooms is uniquely appointed; from an exotic Tibetan suite with oriental antiques and hand-painted screens to French boudoirs with Provencal antiques and mirrored dressers. The fabrics throughout include superlative silks and textures, handpicked to match each interior. The dining and living areas resemble an elegant manor hall. Communal areas lead onto country terraces where roses and fountains make for serene summer evenings. La Residence uses a network of highly qualified outside therapists that cater to individual needs in our Spa. From massage to beauty, whole-body therapies are available. Additionally, we are able to provide our guests with treatments in their rooms, or on their private balconies when the weather is fine.

Your Wedding
In the Beautiful Cape Winelands of South Africa, nestled beneath majestic mountains lies the historical village of Franschhoek. Widely known as the “Food and wine Capital of South Africa”, Franschhoek boasts some of the best restaurants in the country, together with numerous wonderful wine estates. With its unique location and spectacular views, La Residence is the ideal venue for weddings. The La Residence Family prides themselves in giving warm personalised service and exceptional cuisine thus ensuring an unforgettable experience for you and your guests. We encourage making an appointment to view our fabulous property and will gladly show you around and discuss your particular requirements for your special day.

At La Residence we suggest catering for weddings up to 40 to 60 guests, of which only 22 will be accommodated on the property. Alternative accommodation can be recommended for all extra guests. Our experienced Wedding Planner will co-ordinate all aspects of your wedding and reception, and will offer her/his valuable guidance.  We can organize any of the additional services you may require. Wines have to be arranged 2 WEEKS prior to wedding. We welcome all guests checking in, with a glass of sparkling wine on arrival. All other guests attending the Wedding will receive iced water or fruit juice on arrival prior to the ceremony. After the ceremony we serve the wedding party cocktails (Pimm’s Cocktails or Sparkling Wine, Fruit juice & Iced Water) and canapés as discussed with our Executive Chef or Co-coordinator.  A four course wedding meal can be chosen from our wedding menus. This can all be carefully created with the help of our FunctionCo-coordinator and Executive Chef. Included in the meal cost is half a bottle of wine per person, from the La Residence house wine list only. Any wine over and above this amount will be charged according to wines selected. Also Included in Meal Costs is the Welcome Drink (Pimm’s Cocktails or Sparkling Wine, Fruit juice & Iced Water) served after the ceremony. Our extensive house wine list is to be used. We supply sparkling wine in the rooms of your guests staying at La Residence on arrival. - Standard in-house flowers. - Our gift to the Bridal couple: We will present you with a gift to remind you of your special day. -Receive a free night for any additional two nights booked at La Residence
