Paternoster Hotel

The well known Paternoster Hotel is situated on the West Coast of South Africa in the picturesque fishing village of Paternoster, only 145km north of Cape Town. The Paternoster Hotel is a 2 minute walk from the Main Beach and offers 10 en suite rooms, a fully equipped Self Catering House, a Pub (The Panty Bar) and a Restaurant famous for its seafood.

Paternoster Hotel Weddings

The original building was built in 1863 by the community with limestone from the area. In those days it served as a ‘mall’ with a clothing store, jail/holding cell, entertainment (snooker tables). The present dining room was used for dances and church services and the function hall was an open area used by the local farmers to store their corn.

If you want to celebrate your most beautiful day in a relaxed, traditional, rustic, family atmosphere, Paternoster Hotel is your ideal Venue.

Here you can turn your Wedding from a one day occasion into a week end celebration with family and friends. We have indoor and outdoor BBQ/braai facilities as well as an A La Carte restaurant for your pre Wedding party.

Venue Facilities …..

Our Function Hall ….. Comfortably seats up to 150 guests with a spacious dance floor
The Restaurant ….. Seats up to 60 guests but no dance floor is permitted
Outside ….. Unfortunately we do no catering outside on the lawn/in the garden – only the ceremony and welcoming

All the options are within walking distance from Paternoster Hotel.

Beach….
A beautiful beach ceremony is ideal and very romantic… weather permitting.

Church ….
Paternoster also has a beautiful Anglican church that can be hired at an additional cost.

Garden …..
At the Hotel you can have your ceremony on a large lawn in the garden under a huge old RUBBER tree that can easily be transformed into a lovely setting.

Menu…..
We provide a list of dishes from which you can choose and set up your own menu. Plated or buffet can be done. We can also do a traditional meat or seafood braai/BBQ for a true informal West Coast experience.

We have an extended wine list and offer special prices for the wedding on these wines.
Wine and sparkling wines – R 25.00 p. bottle cork fee should you provide your own

Accommodation…
Special tariffs for guests will apply should you book all the accommodation in the Paternoster Hotel.

Honeymoon couples receive the Saturday night’s accommodation and breakfast the following morning, with compliments in a sea view room at the Hotel. We will also add a bottle of Sparkling wine.

Regrettably we do not do any functions on South African Long weekends and during high season from mid December to mid January.
