Blue Bay Lodge
The elegantly gabled Blue Bay Lodge is built only meters above the wide-stretched beaches of Saldanha Bay; a tranquil South African fishing village lying approximately 120 kilometers North of the legendarily beautiful Cape Town. Situated in the relaxing privacy of the resort, the hotel offers guests a relaxing visit in comfortable accommodation, as well as a wide range of services and activities.
Blue Bay Lodge Weddings
A beach wedding at Blue Bay Lodge is as close to perfection as you could wish. The Terrace has glass walls to maximise the beautiful views over the Saldanha Bay. The doors fold back, opening the verandah out to the beautiful lawns and these extend onto the beach. There is a wooden deck at the end of the walkway on the beach where the ceremony can be performed. Alternatively the ceremony can be performed on the beach. There is a sheltered courtyard with a fountain for the ceremony for those who choose to have it here.
The wedding package includes the use of 15 double rooms for the night of the wedding and breakfast the next morning for 30. Careful attention has been paid to every detail ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of our guests. Each room has been stylishly decorated in tones of naturals and blues. The colours of the sea and sand are echoed in the crisp, cool decor with hints of warmth. All of the 16 luxurious rooms has en-suite bathrooms, a ‘Dstv’ television, a hairdryer and coffee making facilities. The hotel also offers a tennis court, a ‘braai’ area, and for those who have their fill of swimming in the sea, a sparkling pool, warmed in winter, to dive into.
The views are spectacular, overlooking the bay. At night the lights around the bay create the effect of fairy lights twinkling all around.
The Blue Bay Lodge is adjoined by a number of self-catering beach side cottages, all secure within the resort and each with beautiful panoramic views. Each cottage is tastefully furnished and fully equipped.
Guests who come to make use of our stress-relief programs and beauty and wellness therapies also appreciate the privacy and tranquillity. The hotel has on hand a range of body treatments packages for business executives, brides and those recovering from surgery.

My daughter got married here on Saturday, 26th February 2011 and I cannot praise the staff enough. Each and everyone of them went way beyond the call of duty. We stayed there the whole weekend, on arrival on Friday morning we were given a room to put all the wedding bits and pieces and told that we could use that room to get everything ready (I’ve heard of other venues where you are only given access from midday on the actual day of the wedding), not only that but all the staff assisted and helped us. We were made to feel so welcome and were given free range to decorate the venue however we wanted, they really bent over backwards to help us. They welcomed all of our guests and made everyone feel special. The wedding itself was superb, food was excellent and they then cleared everything away and stored all our decor for us before breakfast at 7 am the next morning, I had expected that we would be clearing everything away ourselves. 10 out of 10 to Blue Bay Lodge.
